Frequently asked questions
Where does the VARK data come from?
From the pupil's 28-question test in their own profile. It can be retaken any time, and teachers can see when it was last taken. Pupils without a test show as 'not assessed' and don't enter the class mix calculation.
Is the 28-question test pedagogically valid?
VARK is a widely used learning preference model — not a fixed personality trait. We use it to vary materials and measure progress per approach, not to lock pupils into one style.
How does Smart Apply rank the suggestions?
Suggestions are scored on expected lift to the class's overall coverage, weighted by the most missing styles. The three highest-ranked are shown — you can always reject individual suggestions or pick another.
Can the teacher override both suggestions and the style marker?
Yes. The teacher has full editorial control. Smart Apply is a starting kit, and a teacher can add a note on a pupil that nuances or overrides the measured style.
What exactly do parents see?
Parents see their own child's primary style and a progress-by-style section in the weekly report. They don't see other pupils' styles, the class mix or the Class Fit panel.
How do you handle GDPR & adgangskontrol?
Learning style is protected by the same Row-Level Security rules as all other pupil data. A teacher only sees styles for pupils in their own classes; a parent only sees their own child. Class Fit aggregates at class level — no individual pupil data leaves the school's context.
