It all started at the kitchen table in Vejen, Denmark. Kim Østergaard's daughter asked whether there wasn't a better way to learn — one that met her exactly where she was. That question became the starting point for mystudent.ai.

In just three weeks the idea went from sketch to a testable version. Today the platform runs on +30 quality-control processes, more than 58,000 read-aloud audio files and is already in use at six schools.

We build on the principle that every pupil learns differently — so we tailor teaching to each pupil's learning style based on the VARK model (Visual, Auditory, Read/Write and Kinaesthetic). With over 3,600+ topics, 15,200+ learning exercises and coverage of 29 subjects from Year 1 to Year 13, we follow both the Danish Fælles Mål and the National Curriculum closely. The platform is live in the UK and under development for the US, Greece, Portugal, Spain and France. We are also building FagSkolen for vocational education and CorpEd for businesses.

mystudent.ai is developed by SkoleElev ApS, a Danish company that builds SaaS products with passion and heart. SaaS means Software as a Service — the user installs nothing; the solution runs in a browser or app.

We have built many software solutions over the years. It all started with inventory management and invoicing (what would today be called ERP), marketing software, press release solutions, staff management and much more. In addition, Kim Østergaard has also been online director at the fashion company Bestseller.

The toughest tester is still Kim's own daughter. If a new lesson doesn't engage her, it doesn't ship. That standard — together with +30 internal quality processes — is why teachers and parents can trust the content pupils meet on the platform.
