Live check-in / out kids tap, staff see, parents know
The child taps their name on the kiosk and picks a tile. Staff get a live overview grouped by room or zone, and can move or override with two clicks. Mis-tap protection keeps parent notifications honest — in line with GDPR Art. 5 (accuracy) and DPA guidance.
Tap-name
No code, no scanner. Child finds their name and picks the tile. Fast enough for a 5-year-old to do solo.
Live overview
Staff see presence grouped by tile. Realtime updates — no refresh needed.
Move in two clicks
Pedagogue moves a child to another tile. Parents get one move notification — not two.
Staff override
Forgot to tap? The pedagogue checks in/out from the console — everything logs with 'staff' as source.
Mis-tap protection
A 'check-out' for a child never checked in is rejected. Kiosk shows 'Anna isn't checked in'.
Free self check-out
Kids can check out themselves when picked up. Parents are notified. No queue at the desk.
How it works in practice
- 1. The kiosk shows enrolled kids' names as big, tap-friendly tiles
- 2. Child taps their name → picks a location tile → confirms
- 3. Server records the event, updates live presence, fires parent notification
- 4. Staff see the change in the after-school console in realtime (Supabase realtime)
- 5. Every event is auditable in the daily log — export available
In the classroom
Everyday flow
Anna taps at 13:42 → 'Workshop'. Staff see her at once. At 14:55 she's moved to 'Yard'.
Parent calls
'Where's Liva?' — pedagogue opens console, sees 'Hall, last moved 14:30'. Two seconds.
Forgotten tap
Mikkel leaves without tapping out. Pedagogue checks him out in the console — dad gets the same notification.
Two audiences, one tool
Live presence via Supabase realtime, override in two clicks when a child forgets to tap. Every event logs its source (child/staff).
The mis-tap guard means you never get a false 'gone home' message. When your child actually leaves, the message arrives — not before.
